17 in September - Will I pass before the new test?

I am 17 in the middle of Sept and am worried I will have to take the new test. Can I pass before Oct?
S.C., Tunbridge Wells

Hi S.C.,
Don't even worry about it!
If you want to do an intensive course, rush yourself through and not develop your skills on the road, possibly not pass due to a lack of experience, and spend twice what you need then obviously you can! But I would suggest you take it at a steady pace, take the test as soon as you are ready and stay safe!

The test changes are nothing to worry about. My pupils have always been at a standard which can deal with them even before they were suggested. If you want to read more about them check out my Driving Test Changes report. But don't fret!

Best thing you can do to aid your passing (excusing the phrase!) is get stuck into the Theory Test, get it booked for on or just after your 17th Birthday. Then with this passed you can make the safest and best choice for the Practical Test.
